Works on this page:
scenes
rain
long day
deluge
mapped

scenes

there are
scenes i play
in my head
at night
half asleep, where
no one can find me
deep within
myself hidden
and trapped
by dreams of
prophecy
knowing part
of what is
and what will
be
half awake
transfixed
by glaring
darkness
as i wait to
hear the words
i know
you'll never say

rain

it should be too
cold for rain
yet rain whips
through the sky
stinging darkness
reminding me
that i should
walk faster
as people stare
i'm soaked through
waiting for ice
to form, degrees below
cold to return
for good.

long day

i keep living
this day
so long
wondering why i
bother to look
at the clock
it never moves
as fast as
i'd like
too many mistakes
made already
with eight hours
left to go

deluge

a rainstorm
like no other
has crept into
my memory...
you falling down
pouring over me
washing away any
chance i had
to have a normal
day not punctuated
by thoughts twisting
up my mind
just as i try to
wrap myself tighter
around whatever it
is that keeps me
from hitting the pavement
the wind shifts
and i find
it's raining on
the inside of
me.

mapped

draw me out
from memory
the lines and
boundaries
you already crossed
driving through
me in your
own accidental
way
now i am folded
up in you
special places
marked by soft lead
pencil strokes
until you
decide
on my destination
again.
